Bikini Competitions Can Bring Hot Summer SalesThe summer heat is here, presenting the perfect opportunity to capitalize on bikini competitions, if they fit your concept. Planning is crucial, and there are two basic ways to utilize the competitions, depending on the workload you are willing to take, says Jennifer Cox (info@realityrox.com) of promotional firm Reality Rox (www.realityrox.com).
“Hosting a weekly contest requires planning and promotion on a pretty high level,” Cox says.
Hosting one, much bigger event, is another option. Jenna Morasca, winner of CBS’s “Survivor: The Amazon” created Jenna Morasca’s Model Challenge USA (www.modelchallengeusa.com) and says MCUSA events attract men who want to see the beautiful women and also a high caliber of women who have a genuine opportunity to get visibility and further their modeling careers — a fact that when advertised and promoted correctly brings the crowds.
“All of our national finalists last year walked away with a great prize package, not just our winner,” Morasca says. “Each girl got their own Web site and online portfolio. Our winner Alisha was almost chosen for NBC’s hit show ‘Fear Factor.’ She has worked in many shows, including trade shows in Las Vegas, has appeared on Maxim magazine’s Web site and much more. Plus, three of our finalists were offered a photo shoot for Playboy and a trip to the Playboy Tower in the Palms hotel in Las Vegas.”
